Photoelectric pod technology
Photoelectric pod technology and its pods are an important part of photoelectric reconnaissance and warning technology and its equipment, but also the core equipment of unmanned aircraft reconnaissance, which will fill the role of tactical reconnaissance of specialized manned aircraft, for which various countries are vigorously developing photoelectric pods for various purposes. Optical pods can be widely used in land, sea, air and space reconnaissance, and their carriers are vehicles, ships, aircraft and satellites.
Key technologies
Visual axis stabilization technology
As the photoelectric pod is mounted on the motion carrier, the carrier's rolling, vibration, etc. will affect the various photoelectric sensors visual axis jitter, resulting in blurred images, positioning inaccuracy phenomenon, which is not allowed. Therefore, the most basic and critical technology of the photoelectric pod is the visual axis stabilization technology.
Multi-sensor mechanical coupling and data fusion technology
At the beginning, the photoelectric pod is equipped with a single sensor, and later developed into multiple sensors, such as short-focus color CCD camera, long-focus black and white (or color) CCD camera, laser rangefinder, short/medium/K-wave infrared thermal imaging camera, target indicator and so on. They can be combined in two or more as needed. This requires that the optical axes of the sensors should be parallel to each other, and the parallelism requirement depends on the stability index; at the same time, the data and images detected by the sensors should be encoded, fused, compressed and processed for transmission to the intelligence analysis and processing department.
Automatic assisted target recognition technology
This is a new technology of image enhancement to extract useful information from the image scene, referred to as ATR technology. For example, “Hound” and UAVs can search a 60km2 zone within 6 min, detect targets, and use ATR algorithms to recognize these targets, with high probability of detection, and can realize the recognition of tank-sized tactical targets, with a detection distance of up to 7km.
